We had our first 2004-2005 executive board meeting for the Dallas County Young Republican for the night before the general membership meeting. We had a whole bunch of candidates addressing the group. NBC channel 5 was also there tonight for a little while. Had to run for the vice presidential debate in the middle of the general membership meeting.
The vice president could have sat up a little straighter, have a little more color on his face and have done better without placing his chin on his hands while he spoke. It was obvious after tonight that the Bush-Cheney campaign playing not to lose in these debates. Both the president and vice president so far have been very, very conservative, didn't attack the other guy as we should. Karl Rove is a genius so will have to trust him with the stragegy.
John Edwards had good color and very good posture, looking right into the camera. His impatience and breaking the rule were the only drawbacks. The one thing the Bush-Cheney campaign should nail Edwards I believe is in his closing statements when he said good defense is the best offense, that's something America cannot afford, ever!
I think John Edwards was making a strong case for the president to go after Iran and North Korea. This further proved that the president was right on target when he called the axis of evils for what they are. Let's see if either of them would flip-flop when the president goes after Iran and North Korea in his second term.
