Went to the Asian Heritage Month Celebration luncheon at DART office building downtown. The luncheon is organized by the Dart Asian Employeee Association. Lysabelle, who put together a fashion show of the Vietnamese traditional dress, the Ao Dai, told a few of us about it last week. It was a great show, very well put together.
Our government academy class heard from the Parks and Recreation department tonight as well as from the Assistant City Manager, and the general manager of the Indian Creek Golf Club. The golf club is privately managed by a professional golf course management company who has a contract with the city of Carrollton. They've got a great Player Development program, for $29 a month you can have unlimited range balls, and $15 green fee with cart after 2:00 pm seven days. Even better, family member can be added for only $10. They've also got the Eagl Card program as well as 15% off green fees for resident and 10% off the twilight rate after 2:00 pm. They have all kind of deals, for which you should check out their website.
They finally reach a deal in the US Senate, which I am not sure if I should be glad or not. I am glad however that Priscilla Owen, Janice Rogers Brown and William Pryor will now receive an up or down vote.
