It's ironic what I heard on Fox News this morning: Carrie Underwood may have gotten more votes than George W. Bush. This nation is in trouble if its citizens care more about something as inconsequential as American Idol than the presidency. On the flipside, maybe it's not that bad since the race for the presidency is not all purely a popular contest.
