Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the grey twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat. --- Theodore Roosevelt

"Silent honor" by Danielle Steel describes what Americans of Japanese descent of any degree had to go through in the 1940s. Maybe those horrific stories explain somewhat the distrust Americans of Asian descent in general have toward the government and their tendency to keep a lot of hard cash? Looking through their eyes, maybe US government savings bonds, stocks and CDs or even real estates ... aren't all that wise of an investment because they weren't even allowed to have bank accounts! Human emotions and all of its extreme frenzies, only God knows and for me, I can only trust God for He alone knows best.
