Life has been very busy for me. I bought a house right next to my parents and the closing was yesterday. I made the mistake of using Chicago Title Insurance Company for the closing. Judy Goodman, the assistant vice president and branch manager for the office at 2828 Trinity Mills, Suite 221, Carrollton, TX 75006, was the one handled my transaction. I bought it from an estate. We've known Rosemary the neighbor for year. She had my parents kept a spare key to her house in case she got locked out of her house. She was recently deceased after a long illness while stayed with her son Paul in Houston. Paul is now the executor of her will. The property is left to all three of her children, Paul, Donna and Allen. Don't know if Judy knows what she's doing but my lender, Texans Credit Union, told me that she didn't have all the documents need to be executed at the closing completed. But that's understandable because these estate things are complicated. What I had problem with is how unresponsive she is to the customer. And being assistant vice president and branch manager, she's not exactly helping the reputation of Chicago Title Insurance nor setting a good example for her staffs. I would definitely not recommend her for any of your transaction.
Other than that, I am busy at my new job at Shared Tech. After seven years with Nortel doing telecommunication, I am now back on the IT side. I was in IT with JC Penney before making the jump to Nortel. This was back in late 1999, early 2000, when sign up cash bonus was irresistible. I will miss the folks at Nortel, especially the ones in my group but I am also very happy at Shared Tech. The people are certainly great and from everything I've seen so far, it's a great place to work.
One last thing, if you think of having your blog with WordPress, think again. They didn't like me exercising my first amendment right, criticizing Dallas mayoral candidate Ed Oakley's openly gay life style, they suspended my blog on there.
