Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the grey twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat. --- Theodore Roosevelt

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales was the keynote speaker at today's Circle Ten Council Boys Scouts of America Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award luncheon. His speech wasn't really memorable or inspiring, maybe because I am prejudiced. I find myself pretty critical of the fact that he let US attorneys prosecute US border agents who are doing their best to protect America. He's the US AG, not Mexican AG nor North American Union AG. He should be protecting US citizens, not Mexican drug smugglers. He was sitting at the head table with Dianne Jones, who was the one that introduced him. I sat at Dianne's table, which is the table right next to the head table. Saw him came in and sat down. Thought I should come over, introduce myself and shake hand with him but I found myself wasn't at all care much for it. When we stood up for the pledge of allegiance, I noticed he wasn't tall either. He's either my height, 5'7" or a little bit shorter.
