Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the grey twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat. --- Theodore Roosevelt

The shooting today at Virginia Tech that left 33 people dead, including the shooter, is a tragedy that we cannot understand. We can only pray that God will comfort the families and love ones of those who were killed. Senator John McCain is right however, that the right to keep and bear arms of law abiding citizens should not have anything to do with this tragedy. I admire the senator for separating the principle from the emotions. I only wonder if there had been a concealed carry license holder among the students, could the casualty have been less?
