Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the grey twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat. --- Theodore Roosevelt

We heard from Ross Ramsey, editor of the Texas Weekly at today's Dallas Friday Group luncheon. Learned a few interesting tidbits of information such as Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson is endorsed by the AFL-CIO, that the National Republican Congressional Committee has pulled one million of its funding out of the Van Taylor race against incumbent Democratic Chet Edwards, that attorney general Greg Abbott is sitting on more than seven million dollars, saving it for the next race and not spending it in his bid for re-election against David Van Os, .... Sitting next to me was Joel T. Allison, president and CEO of Baylor Health Care System. I have seen a lot of titles following people's names but I had to look this one up, FACHE. At the table was also a private banker with North Trust, a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch, a sales executive with Hyatt Classic.
